I am a motivational/inspiration speaker lecturing on senior reinvention. I retired 20 years ago from my 37-year career as a probation officer and went on to become a professional actress, author, speaker, and blogger. The transition to becoming an actress in my senior years has been written about in Time Magazine, the Los Angeles Times newspaper, AARP, and in Marlo Thomas’ 2014 book, It Ain’t Over…Till It’s Over which profiles women who have reinvented themselves.
I have spoken at numerous public events throughout the United States. My target audience members are baby boomers, seniors, retirees, and those soon to retire. My talk runs from 30 minutes to two hours. I customize the length and content to my audience, typically including the following points:
- Why people fear retirement (from a job, career, parenting, etc.)
- How you can find joy, excitement and satisfaction in life after retirement
- How I did it (my story)
- How to identify a new passion to create your own “second act”
- Activities for baby boomers and seniors, and how to find them
